Welcome to the Tower!

The Hallowed Halls of Syrinak

You step into the great, marbled halls with a bit of awe. Your footsteps echo upon the green veined stones which stretch before you. To either side of you, statues of heroes who have entered these halls before you gaze down with mild benevolence, stalwart courage or, on the faces of some, cold, ruthless desire for power. You hold your head high, for today, you join the ranks of these heroes.

Let's just admit it folks. We gamers are incredibly proud of our favorite characters and will easily spend hours barraging our friends with the wonderous things they have accomplished. Here, in the Hallowed Halls, you can make sure that everyone knows what your best mage, thief, fighter or whomever has done! Players have a public bragging ground and DMs have a source for new and potentially very entertaining NPCs. So, if you have a character you would like to submit, just send me a copy of your character sheet and I will work on getting him or her added. Before submitting a character, however, I do have a few guidelines you should read. If you would like to jump straight to the archives and take a look at the NPCs already there, click here.

Submission Guidelines
  1. When telling your character's background, please try to be as descriptive and thorough as possible. I'm afraid that DM's are not going to be able to use a character which has only one or two lines of description. They could've just made up Bob the Botanomaner on the spur of the moment rather than look here. So, in order for the archives to be as useful as possible, please try to give, at the very least, a couple of good paragraphs. Any submission that is only two or three sentences long will not be posted.
  2. Tell us what is unique about your character. What are your character's driving goals, his ambitions, his darkest secrets...make us want to use the character. I'm afraid submissions that simply state something along the lines of, "Bob was a good kid who learned to be a botanomancer from a kindly, eccentric gnome. After several years of study, he set forth in the world to make his way as a professional botanomancer. Now, he travels with his companions doing botanomancer-like things." will not be posted. Again, this is not something which will be useful to the average DM. They are going to need a more involved, unique background in order to either use them effectively as inpromptu NPCs or develop a storyline with the character as a pivotal NPC.
  3. Please do not bother submitting any character whose sole purpose is to screw anything that lives, breathes and walks. I am trying to keep this website at a PG level and sex fiend characters are going to shoot it straight into the X rating. I do not have a CGI script which posts these submissions automatically. I must go in and add each one by hand, so you are not going to be able to slip a sex fiend past me. If you do send me something like that, it will simply be deleted from my list.
  4. Don't be afraid to submit fun characters! A character does not have to be a nasty, all-powerful killing machine to be interesting. A well written, first level, pacifist priest is going to be posted way before a badly written, two dimensional, 20th level fighter/mage/thief/priest. It's not about level or power....It's about the character himself.
  5. Don't be afraid to submit because you feel that your spelling or grammar isn't good. I understand perfectly that some people, while highly creative, just have a hard time with spelling. I'll be sure to double check all the mechanics of the language and correct them before posting. (Not that I'm perfect, either, you know! But, I'll try to catch what I can.)
