Welcome to the Tower!

Sword of Harmony, created by Rumply

You pick the sword up and turn it in the light. Silver glints dance along it's length, down to the finely wrought hilt which bears and engraving of a rose in full bloom on one side, a skull on the other.

This particular sword is a wizard's dream. It was created solely to preserve balance in a fight. By this, I do not mean that it is well weighted, nor is the sword itself simply of a neutral alignment. What I mean by this is that the sword evens the odds for the one who wields it. When used in a battle, the sword knows who has the most hit points. If the one wielding the sword has fewer hit points than his oppenent, then the sword gives the wielder half as much hit points as he did damage. If the wielder has more hit points, it does half as much damage to the wielder as it did to the opponent. I know that sounds kind of confusing. Let me explain.

For example, let's say Khendare has 37 hit points and is fighting a demi-wraith with 50 hit points. He strikes the demi-wraith for 12 points of damage. The sword then gives Khendare 6 hit points. However, Khendare has been whipping this demi-wraith down to the point where it has only 30 hit points. Now, Khendare hits it again for another 12 points of damage. Unfortunately, since Khendare has more hit points than the demi-wraith, it damages Khendare for 6 points. Understand? I know that sounds like a bad deal, but it's really in the wizard's favor. How often does a wizard usually end up fighting a creature that doesn't have many more hit points than he? Needless to say, warriors get screwed over by this particular item.

Otherwise, The Sword of Harmony is a longsword +3 to hit, +3 to damage.

This beauty was created by my husband, Rumply, and used in one of his campaigns. I have first hand knowledge that this blade works wonders for a wizard!
