Welcome to the Tower!

Chisels of Justice, created by Abatis Treefaller

Amidst all of the dark and ancient things which obviously radiate arcane magics, you espy something that seems a little out of place, a little...ordinary. Reaching out, you pick up what looks to be a perfectly mundane chisel, it's handle worn and tiny knicks in the blade, showing that the item has been lovingly used on many occassions. You wonder at what an elven hand would create with such a tool. It seems far more suited to the rough palm of a dwarf. Even as you contemplate this, the owner of the tower steps forward with a smile and gestures to the item. "That was a gift from a friend. We..uh...ahem...both have the tendency to treat true intruders to similar fates, and thus he shipped this to me for my birthday." She reaches over to a pile of papers and shuffles through until she finds a piece of yellowed parchment and hands it to you. "Here. I'll let you read his letter. I think Abatis sums it up quite nicely."

"Arislyn,

I originally had this item available for my dunge... er, monster retreat. I hired medusas because they make GREAT police officers. Hey, they hate everybody equally, so you can't ask for anyone more impartial! Unfortunately, they are hard to clean up after:

"For your crime of spitting on the sidewalk I sentence you to death by stoning..."

Hence the commission and creation of the brass Chisels of Justice.

They're cheap to make, as your average gnome or dwarf can whip out a few hundred chisels in no time and the types that have the "cold iron" allergy probably already have a few made already. The alteration enchantment is also rather simple as all it does is convert a statue (and only statues) into bricks, useful for buildings, pavements, roads... Depending on the size of the... um, "work of art", you can build a small stone oven or perhaps a short path for your garden.

Each solid hit on a statue will cause a piece to be sheared off cleanly, which will then reform into a brick by the time it hits the ground. Please note this while this weapon would be devastating on a stone golem, getting it to hold still long enough is YOUR problem.

Abatis Treefaller, who has a lovely path between his shrubberies"

Arislyn chuckles and takes back the note, returning it to the pile of papers from whence it came. Eyes twinkling merrily, she adds, "I've been to Arbatis' place before. You can get an idea of what it is like by the plaque on the front of the retreat which lists the founding fathers of the building along with the note: 'The riot of '03 was directly responsible for the creation (and partial funding) of a sports arena in '07.'"
