You pick up the worn, leather journal and gently turn it's pages. Within, you see spidery handwriting smudged here and there with a bit of dirt or a grass stain. Several of the pages are wrinkled and smeared from being exposed to rain or, possibly, a quick, inadvertent dunk in a stream. You flip through the pages, fascinated by the descriptions of far lands and wondrous beasts.
