Xar's Psi-Unleasher, created by Xar GreyhawkSchools: AlterationLevel: Wiz/Sor 7 Range: Touch Components: Verbal and somantic Duration: 1 turn Casting time: 1 round Area of effect: 1 creature Saving throw: none Through this spell, the caster can literally sculpt the subject's brain to create the right "channels" and "areas" for the being to manifest psionic potential. This spell so can give the subject the powers of a Wild Talent even if the subject has already been examined and has displayed no potential whatsoever. Since the spell lets the caster sculpt the subject's brain, neither the caster nor the recipient can move during the whole turn in which the spell takes effect ( note that the duration of the spell is listed as 1 turn because after that turn, no further changes to the recipient's mind can be done without another casting of the spell. If the recipient displays psionic potential, though, that is retained even after the spell's expiration ). At the end of the turn, a Wild Powers roll must be done to verify the recipient's brain's reaction to the spell ( in short, to control if the subject acquired new powers... or lost a portion of his mind ). The roll is made as normal ( and rolls of 97 or higher can still damage the subject's brain ), but the base chance is 5% and the modifiers are as follows: For every Int, Wis or Con score of 18, +3 The spell can be used one time per subject without other detrimental effects; for every subsequent use of this spell, the chance to show psionic potential is half the previous chance and the chance to suffer damage is double the previous one. |
