Rats, Rats Everywhere"You're not going to believe this at all. The other day, a group of foreigners came in ranting that they saw a bunch of strange rats in one of the local alley ways. Claimed one of them breathed fire at them and another had tentacles sprouting from its back. Now, isn't that the darnest thing you've ever heard?"The Story Ever wondered what happens when you mix several potions together? Well, this town is about to find out. It seems that the local alchemist has taken to dumping his leftover potions into the sewers beneath the city. With all the different potions mixing in the waters, it is creating a powerful concotion which is killing most of the life under the city . . those that live though, tend to gain some nasty powers. This is a perfect opportunity for the DM to exercise some artistic license. Perhaps the sewer creatures have become more intelligent, are in the process of forming a society, are being led my mutated wererats, etc. Basically, the city is getting ready to spawn Ratzilla and the adventurers have to figure out some way to warn the local militia. Keep in mind that the authorities are unlikely to believe them without proof, and a band of low level adventurers are not going to be able to take out a nest of 500 mutant rats by themselves. |
