Yulan's Scarf

You reach out and pick up the silken scarf, allowing the cool clothe to caress your open palm. Turning, you hold it up to the light to better see the bright, silver color. What's that you see? For just a moment, as the sunlight streamed through it at just the right angle, you thought you could see the faintest of outlines in the weave. Something long . . a dagger?
Yulan was a very clever mage/thief who happened to have extraordinarily bad luck. Not that her jobs ever went badly because of her actions. It just turned out that each time she scheduled a job a vampire would be in the same house she was going to hit, or the captain of the guards son would take a shine to her . . that sort of thing. Inevitably, she spent quite a bit of her time running . . through Cormyr, no less. (And we all know about that annoying little policy of Cormyr's that requires all weapons be peace-knotted). So, she developed a magical item that would allow her to conceal any weapon of her choice up to the size of a long sword. Basically, when the scarf is wrapped around the weapon of your choice and the command word is spoken, it will be absorbed into the clothe. Now, you can simply tie up your hair and carry the weapon anywhere you please. To release the weapon, one simply opens the scarf to it's full size, flicks it twice and says the command word a second time. I don't think I have to expound upon the usefulness of this beauty. Take the word of a very talented (but unlucky) assassin named Barand. . he was the last to have it, before I "acquired" it.
